Mother Teckla Orphanage
A widow herself amongst the Maasai Tribal people; Mother Teckla saw the need in her own town of Oloitokitok in Entarara sub-location (near the city of Mombasa on Tanzanian border) for an orphanage. She has taken in 68 children who had been abandoned, as well as 36 widows. Alabaster has come alongside this orphanage to assist with food and uniforms, so that the children are able to have nourishment and attend school.
This orphanage is overseen by Mother Teckla with the assistance of Ibrahim Mokaya, Beatrice Oluoch, Mary Loninah, Ester Beria, Sarah Loninah, and Silvanus Odhiambo. While we are doing our best to sustain and meet their daily food requirements with eggs, cooked bananas, rice, ugali, and more; the need for uniforms is also great as the children are unable to attend school without uniforms or school fees.
We need more help to assist Mother Teckla and the pressing needs in this orphanage. Please donate today!
