Home of Hope, Mayange, Kenya
As a result of a mission trip in the autumn of 2006, Alabaster agreed to take on this existing orphanage in Mayange. Bishop Jashon Gor Mirambe and his wife Reverend Josinter Aoko Gor, founded this great work located on the shores of Lake Victoria. Bishop is also a father to sixteen children of his own, including several that have been adopted.
At this Home of Hope, there are approximately 60 orphans, as well as 28 widows that are housed and assisted daily. Most of the children living in this Home became orphans due to their parent's death from HIV/AIDs. The majority of the widows have also lost their husbands due to this disease and are carriers of it themselves.
Since agreeing to come alongside and supporting this orphanage, we have helped them to acquire land for crop production and also provided financial assistance for uniforms/educational fees. We are also endeavouring to provide the Home with daily nourishment, such as maize and beans; two of their staple foods for each meal. Unfortunately, we have already buried two of the children who have died from disease.
We need more help to keep bringing hope to the hurting orphans and widows in this Home. Please donate today!
